Outside of Western religions there are plenty of other cool non-male deities. There’s lots of pagan goddesses.

The only “feminine” or female deity that is maybe as well known as “God” would be like nature as it is often referred to as “mother” nature and in she/her. Though I’m not sure pantheists or other religions would refer to her strictly as a goddess.

Western religions talk about a male god because western societies are patriarchal; they need it to support a male-dominated societal structure.

I thought this was a meme, are these credible rumours? I don’t care if it’s true, I’ll choose to believe it either way, but it would make it so much better if it were.

I agree that the party needs more aggressive leadership but as a person of colour I can guarantee Jagmeet’s already weakening support would tank if he was seen as anything less than a model minority. Racist people don’t want to see any brown man lead the country, much less an angry brown man.

And as others have pointed out, hatred =/= not innocent. Nobody deserves to die just for hating someone. Even if you could justify killing someone just cause they allegedly hate you, I have a very very difficult time believing that all Palestinians hate Israelis and vice versa. Again, people are not born with hatred in their heart and the actions of a government don’t always reflect the feelings of their citizens.

Also just being pedantic about your disclaimer: opinions are biased. You can’t ask for an unbiased opinion. You can make an unbiased (to an extent) statement, but not an opinion.

Not to this extreme but I have found it comforting just to hear people acknowledge that it’s a fucked up time. Like literally a throwaway line like “with the state of things” or reminding people to take care of themselves or whatever. Something to just recognize that this is not fucking normal but we’re gonna continue to try to do normal cause what the hell else can we do.

I just started trying to de-google and I’m having a really difficult time with the search engines. I switched to duckduckgo on recommendation and while it’s nice not to have the AI response (that was my biggest bother), I’m having a really difficult time getting good results for local businesses and like even tv shows. I know a lot of it is that Google is spying on me so it’ll usually know what I’m getting at even if my search wasn’t the best, but I’m just not sure how I can improve my queries or what I’m doing wrong.

I just woke up physically tired from sleep. Not in a “I’m sleepy” kind of way, in a “did I just run a fucking marathon why am I in so much pain” kind of way.

The issue remains that last time a bunch of Canadians got their flag out was in support of the idiot convoy that crossed Canada in support of ignorance and white supremacy.

I understand and appreciate solidarity against the American government, but I’d like it if we could go back to not waving our colonial flag everywhere.
