We are committed to non-violence. And we all know this administration is not. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I’m concerned with making sure if they’re going to attack anyone they come after us first. I want them to have to go through me to get to Canada if it comes down to it. I don’t want my friends there to be in any more danger.
It’s not a secret Canada’s got the world backing them, but we can also provide a line of defense. I don’t have any details or expertise on the matter, I just know I love a lot of people who I fear for and I don’t know how to handle it other than drawing the ire towards us first.
By staying non-violent FOR NOW, they ensure that Trump is forced to get violent first and prevents him from using the narrative that they are a violent organization and his use of violence was justified. It’s very smart, actually

(meqvmzm)i think 50501 is officially nonviolent, supports and organizes only nonviolent actions, etc. this is wise in a political group that wants to exercise in the open.
nothing is off the table for any particular person or group that has the goal of resisting autocracy and authoritarianism.

(meqoa42)WE LOVE YOU CANADA. I will fight for Canada and to defend Canada any day before I fight for the regime in charge. I will never ever fight against Canada, ever. Point blank. Sending love to our Canadian neighbors, I am so so so sorry for this situation we are in.

(meqtz1a)As much as I appreciate the help of every US citizen willing to give it, I’ve been getting a little tired of “what can we do to help?” posts, so people being a little more proactive is really nice to see up here.

(meqx9zo)Growing up, my great gramma owned a cottage on Waverly Beach in Ontario. Right up the street from Fort Erie. The ruins of Erie Beach Amusement Park were my stomping grounds for a few weeks a year. Caught my biggest fish there off the old foundations that went about 50 ft out when I was a kid. I miss that beach so much to this day, sludgy Lake Erie scum and all. Everything about Canada has always been kind of magical for me. And good god were the Canadians shopping in NY Home Depots the best customers of all time. So damn nice. I also exclusively listened to Canadian radio stations as a kid cause we got them in rural WNY and they were just waayyy better. Canada was a huge part of my childhood and I will always stand on their side. We, the sane, are all in this shit together. Thanks for posting this.
